• General purpose probes have frosted-finish tips for ease of placement and patient comfort and can be introduced through oral, nasal, or rectal openings
• Skin temperature probe has reflective back to insulate sensor from heat lamps or OR lights; hypoallergenic adhesive for easy placement and removal
• Esophogeal stethscope with temp probe also allows monitoring of heart and lung sounds
• Tympanic probes are less invasive and have soft memory-cell foam that conforms to the ear canal
