The patented Parker Flex-Tip at the distal end of the tube facilitates easy insertion and advancement of the tube through the trachea. A soft, flexible, tapered, midline tip is designed to slide or ski gently along the airway, through the larynx, and down the trachea on its curve backside without catching on or traumatizing the airway structure. Comparative clinical studies in the U.S. and Japan have reported that Parker endotracheal tubes with the Flex-Tip are "significantly less traumatic" to the airway than tubes with standard tips.
